Transforming Lives Through Acts of Compassion.

Rooted in Compassion: Acts of Power Foundation Limited’s Lifeline to the Aeta Community in Nagtipunan, Quirino

Although Acts of Power Foundation Limited was officially established on December 20, 2024, its roots trace far deeper—born from years of dedication, vision, and community-centered work. Before the foundation was formally recognized, a group of passionate individuals had already been laying the groundwork for what would become one of its pioneering initiatives: a semiannual charitable event focused on uplifting the Aeta (Nagtipunan Agta) community in Nagtipunan, Quirino, Philippines.

A Lifeline to a Marginalized Community

The Nagtipunan Aeta, indigenous people native to the rugged mountains of Quirino, face a multitude of challenges, including systemic discrimination, limited access to education, and struggling livelihoods. Historically, the Aeta rely on subsistence farming through swidden agriculture (slash-and-burn), hunting, gathering, and the crafting of handmade goods like baskets and mats. These traditions, however, are under threat due to land displacement, climate change, and economic hardships.

Acts of Power Foundation Limited recognized these challenges and took action. Through their semiannual charitable events, the foundation delivers food aid, free medical services, and emotional support to the Aeta community, helping them meet immediate needs while fostering long-term community ties.

More Than Aid: Building a Safe and Supportive Environment

What makes these events special is the community-building aspect. The foundation doesn’t just distribute aid; it creates safe spaces where the Aeta people can gather, be heard, and feel seen. Volunteers and organizers focus on cultural exchanges, dialogues, and activities that affirm the Aeta's cultural identity—promoting unity, trust, and respect.

The Nagtipunan Aeta are deeply connected to nature through animistic beliefs. They see spirits residing in the forest, rivers, and animals, and rituals are conducted to honor these spirits and ensure a good harvest or hunting season. Acts of Power Foundation Limited emphasizes not only material aid but also spiritual respect, acknowledging the cultural richness of the Aeta.

Looking Ahead

With the formal establishment of Acts of Power Foundation Limited, the team is now better equipped to scale its efforts. Plans are already in place to expand the scope of support for the Aeta, including education scholarships, livelihood programs, and community empowerment workshops. This initiative aims not just to address immediate needs, but to provide the Aeta with the tools to thrive sustainably while maintaining their cultural identity.

Through education, healthcare, and livelihood support, Acts of Power Foundation Limited is committed to empowering the Nagtipunan Aeta to build a sustainable future on their own terms, helping them navigate modern challenges while preserving their ancestral heritage.
