Ordinary to Extraordinary: Set Apart for God's Glory
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11
Sometimes we come to church not knowing the real reason why. For me, it started with simple things—there was food, toys, and gifts from abroad. But over time, God revealed that His plan was far more than that. He was drawing me in, preparing me, and setting me apart for His glory.
My name is Mark David Tejada and I was 13 years old when I started attending Resurrection Power Christian Church International (RPCCI) in 2010. At first, it was all about the fun and the blessings. But God used even those small beginnings to lead me into something greater.
Through the years, I began to understand my real purpose—not just to receive, but to serve. RPCCI became my spiritual family. The church supported me, believed in me, loved me, and most of all, helped shape me for God’s use.
I am so grateful to Pastora Jo-anne Bernales and Pastor Santi, whose leadership and faith deeply impacted my life. I still remember one of Pastor Jo-anne’s powerful messages: “Be more than what you are right now.”
That word challenged me. It pushed me beyond my comfort zone. From a young boy with no clear direction, I became someone walking closely with the Lord. God used my pastors to bring out the calling He placed inside me.
God opened doors, and because of faithful service, I was blessed to go to Hong Kong—not just for work, but to continue serving. And now, by the grace of God, I am in Vietnam, working as a Foreign Language Teacher and still proclaiming the Gospel.
I now understand that wherever we go, we are called to build an altar for God, to worship Him, and to be His witnesses in every nation.
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” — Romans 8:28
“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.” — Ephesians 3:20
God truly transforms lives. From ordinary to extraordinary, not because of who we are, but because of who He is. I am a testimony that God has no limits. He takes broken pieces and turns them into beautiful purpose.
To RPCCI, and especially to Pastor Jo-anne and Pastor Santi, thank you for believing in me, for nurturing me, and for allowing God to use you in my life. Your obedience changed my future.
To anyone reading this: if God did it for me, He can do it for you. Keep serving. Keep believing. God is not finished with your story.
